Meals on Wheels

In cooperation with Senior Services of Seattle King County, the Black Diamond Community Center delivers Meals on Wheels for those who are homebound or disabled, on either a permanent or temporary basis. The meals are frozen in plastic trays and can be heated either in the oven or in the microwave.

Senior Services Nutrition Projects has taken steps to ensure that the proper nutritional values have been met for each meal. Meals only cost a suggested donation of $3 for those who can afford it. If clients can only pay a dollar per meal, or even lower, that is perfectly fine! A few meals are available for sampling, and in order to use the program, clients must complete an application. The Mobile Market is also available, which offers items such as Ensure, Boost, and other nutritional supplements.

To find out more information, look at a menu of items available, and perhaps fill out an application, call Rachel Pitzel at 360-886-2418.
