A variety of local youth groups meet at the Black Diamond Community Center after school. Read below to find out which group interests you!
We have two Scouting groups that meet at the center. Melissa Oglesbee leads a Cub Scout troop every Thursday evening, 7-8pm. Leanne Gosse leads a Girl Scout troop on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. These groups take part in a variety of activities - service projects, survival skills, camping, developing personal attributes, arts and crafts, cooking projects, and many more educational activities.
The Lucky Horse Shoe 4-H Club meets the fourth Monday of each month from 6:30pm to 9pm.
Deana Ostgard leads a creative dance movement class on Tuesdays, later in the afternoon. This is a fun activity that is relaxing, provides good exercise, and increases flexibility. She has two groups, one for younger children at 3pm, and another for older children at 4:30pm. Call Deana at 360-886-1011 to inquire about rates and joining.
If any of these youth groups sound interesting to you, give the Black Diamond Community Center a call to check the schedule and leave a message for one of the leaders. We are also looking for potential Cub Scout leaders!
